After thankfully recalling all the places I was able to visit and the things I was fortunate to do in 2012, I decided it was time to come up with a new list for 2013 before any more time passed me by! Check out my wishlist!!! Maybe you will be inspired to add a few of my dreams to YOUR list too! 😀
As much as I’d like to choose 13 HUGE trips, such as safari in Africa, take a dip in the blue lagoon in Iceland, rough it in the Amazon and hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. . . . I simply can not aim to achieve 13 things in that price range all in one year. Bummer!
I will have to “settle” for one or two big trips and a bunch of less extravagant, yet equally enjoyable ones. 😀 I can TOTALLY live with that! 😉 I hope my sarcasm using the word “settled” is obvious.
Without further delay, here’s s my list!
Learn basic wilderness survival skills – August
BAE offers day classes and expeditions here in CA that help you learn basic(and not so basic) survival skills you would need in the wilderness.
Take my daughter on her first “airplane” trip – November 2014, Bahamas
We are considering the Bahamas or Maui Hawaii.
Go to Australia – April
There are SOOOO many things I want to do in Australia. If I want to be realistic, it would probably need to live there for a minimum of 6 months to accomplish them all. So as to not overwhelm or discourage myself, I am NOT going to jot down specifics for now. I am simply just going to try my best to get there this year and figure things out the rest as I go! 😀
Travel outside the USA with my dad. . . Anywhere – January
This is happening RIGHT NOW. Check out New Year – New Hope for details. 😀
Learn to SUP
I have been wanting to try this since before it was “cool”. With so many places nearby that offer it, I’d like to FINALLY try it this year!
Ride in a Hot air Balloon
There are a handful of places here in California that offer this experience. If you have any recommendations please feel free to leave them in the comments section here. THANKS!
Spend the night at Vision Quest Ranch
This is as close to Africa as I will get for a few more years. 😉
Play in the Snow at Yosemite National park with my whole family, all 4 of us – January 1st
I did this already, posting this blog is a bit delayed. We actually went for New Years Eve . . . . Maybe we will do it again. 🙂
Go to Point Reyes National Seashore – August
Have you seen pictures of this place? If you haven’t, check out my pinterest, I have TONS pinned!
10. Take my daughter to see the Giant redwoods in person
Yes, I know my daughter is in a lot of the things on my list. The older she gets, the harder it is for me to leave her behind when I travel. She is finally at the age that I know she would enjoy and appreciate joining us on our adventures. She obviously isn’t old enough to do EVERYTHING I do but she is at least old enough to come along for the ride and participate when/where it is age appropriate! She is inquisitive, energetic and can actually put me through the ringer exploring a new place! ha ha I get MUCH more enjoyment out of my trips lately when she is with me. It is as if I get to enjoy experiences from two perspectives! 😀 *Bring Lucy too
11. Do a Bio luminescent Tour In Santa Cruz California
I have seen many AMAZING photos of nighttime seascapes with glowing plankton ocean water crashing onto the sand. It’s time for me to see this phenomenon person!
12. Scuba Dive in Monterey
Daydreaming about swimming through a kelp forest and coming face to face with a sea lion in its environment just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Though I know the waters will be far from “warm & fuzzy” I am willing to suck it up in order to experience this mystical underwater world. 🙂
13. Take my daughter to Disneyland during the holidays
This one will have to wait till November/December but I have heard the holidays in the “magical” world of Disney are gorgeous! From the photos I have seen I don’t doubt it!!!
I wanted to add one more thing to my list but my ” 13 things in 2013″ list wouldn’t have really worked if I had 14 things on it. 😉by
